Regenerative Medicine 101

Regenerative medicine offers safe and effective alternatives to surgery. In this cutting-edge specialty, cells are harvested from your own body. These cells "wake the body up" when injected into an injured site and begin a healing cascade from within.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between PRP and BMAC?

Both Platelet-Rich Plasma and Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate are regenerative therapies, but there are differences between them. PRP contains proteins with regenerative properties, whereas BMAC, on the other hand, is a stem cell procedure. PRP contains growth factors and proteins; BMAC contains total nucleated stem cells from your own body. In general, PRP is appropriate for mild to moderate osteoarthritis, tendon injuries, and ligament tears, whereas BMAC is reserved for moderate to severe arthritic conditions.

Where are these procedures done?

All of these procedures are done in the office. They are minimally invasive, non-surgical, safe, and require little downtime.
